Clicking on the check mark unveils the workshop and it is ready to use. The workshop is ready to use when a green check mark appears above it. This time can be a few minutes or a few hours. Once placed the workshop take a set amount of time to be built before it can be used.
You have to find a vacant spot, indicated by a green area under the workshop. Placing a workshop is done by opening the General Store and dragging the item onto your farm. For example, buying a second Windmill is not allowed until you reach level 9. Buying additional workshops is sometimes restricted until you reach a certain level. You can have up to six workshops of each kind on your farm. They are controlled by the game, not by you or another player.)
